Workshop

What a great day we had completed and delivered 100 bags to Icu. Discussed up coming projects.
What a blessed day with some wonderful ladies. Some ladies call it their therapy section. Lots of laughter.

ICU Delivery

We completed and delivered 90 bags to the medical center at our last workshop. We will meet again tomorrow and get busy sewing more bags and blankets. Hope to see you all from 8-2 at the Byron depot. We need to keep 2 of our members in our prayers Ms Barbara and Ms Charlotte are experiencing so health issues. God please have our beloved ladies in your hands and please guide the doctors as they treat theses sweet ladies

baby blankets

well we did it we completed and successfully delivered 103 baby blankets for the baskets of joy ministry. Ms Katie loved them and is so excited to put them in the Easter baskets this Saturday. You girls rocked we were even featured in the local Byron Buzz/Georgia Post newspaper. Lets set our goal for 125 next year.

workshop feb 28th

we will meet Feb 28th to finalize the baby blanket project for baskets of joy. Don't forget to bring your 2 personalized  blocks for our special project. Finally we will be completing some ICU bags that we will  deliver. Look forward to seeing you all in the morning. Byron Depot 8-12 then we go deliver.

Workshop

Hey guys
All ready for tomorrow workshop feb 14 a day of spreading your love. Can't think of a better project on that day than the baby blankets for baskets of joy. Those baby's need lots of love so rest up so we can knock out 70 blankets. I bought out the Walmart fabric in perry yesterday so all ready to sew.

It's valentines day so lets all bring something we cook with love and share a wonderful lunch together.

Just got a call from ms Katie the lady that runs baskets of joy she said the need is bigger this year and that we need to have 70 baby blankets this year lets get sewing ladies I have some material here if any one want stronger started

Update

Hope everyone is doing well. Things here are great my doctors released me to start getting back to a normal life baby steps.
 We had a a great workshop on January 24th we assembled and delivered 65 bags. The waiting rooms were all packed.
Our next workshop is valentines day feb 14 from 8-2 we will be concentrating on baby blankets for the baskets of joy ministry ( they make Easter baskets and deliver them to the local children's home) we always donate at least 50 baby blankets each year. So come ready to create, sew , cut or just socialize with us. If you have any material batting or backing for these blankets and would like to donate to the project bring them along. Also if you crochet or knit crib size is what we are linking for.

On Feb 28 we will be assembling bags and making deliveries to the hospitals.

Hey guys

Hope everyone is having a great new year so far.  We kicked off 2013 with our first workshop on January 10th we have 110 bags sewn as well as toiletries for about 150, what a great fellowship that day. We will be meeting again this Thursday January 24 at the Byron depot where we will be filling the bags in the morning and will be leaving for deliveries at lunch time. I normally deliver all bags to the hospital but due to surgery I am on lifting restriction so in December we made a big delivery where as the girls went along it was so full filling to the ladies that we will doing it monthly. As you all know we meet the 2nd and 4th Thursday of every month so we will be doing the normal workshop on the 2nd Thursday and then on the 4th Thursday we will work in the morning and have lunch then off to deliver. It gives the girls the whole picture from start to finish. They get to experience the folks that benefit from their loving work. I hope to see you all this Thursday.

Hope everyone is doing well enjoying the holiday  season. I'm in my 4 th week of a 12 week recovery have good days and bad
We are meeting this week Thursday the 13 8-2 pm we will be sewing bags and assembling them for our finally trip to the hospital for the year

We are also gonna have our Christmas lunch dec 20 Thursday at my home at noon since I can't prepare it all this year I'm asking everyone to bring a dish let me know what you'd like to bring so we can have a balanced meal after we eat those who can we will deliver the bags to the medical center in Macon

a recently delivery touched close to home.

Recently my cousin passed away. When I called his wife to send my condolences, I mentioned that folks really liked and respected Ray at the Medical Center, she asked if I worked there I explained no that I just do the ICU ministry and deliver bags there. Her voice begin to crack and she explained she didnt realize that was me and that she and her daughter had received a bag. She went on to say that it was cold in there and the blanket was a great find, her daughter discovered the bible and they sat in that room reading bible verse.

Prayers needed for one of our own

Kathy one of our girls needs our prayers
Her daughter and son in law were in a horrible car accident they are both at the medical Center in really bad shape Praising god they are alive but the recovery will be long continue to pray for this family

WE are both excited and sad to say goodbye to Stephanie Susskind from WMAZ 13 she is moving to her home state of Florida to work for another CBS station we wish her well but will miss her support for the ICU Ministry
